Shelvanize

Your shelves, in order.
Your books, cataloged.

Shelvanize is a native iOS and Android app for the books you actually own. Pick an arrangement and get the exact order to put every book back, building your collection along the way by scanning a barcode, photographing a cover, or typing a title.

In development for iOS and Android

The reason it exists

The arrangement engine

Tell Shelvanize how your shelves should read. By Library of Congress call number, by author, by title, or by height. The engine turns your whole collection into one exact order, case by case, shelf by shelf, then walks you through the re-shelving pass book by book. The same books and the same scheme give the same order, on either platform.

What Shelvanize does

Books without barcodes welcome

A real collection is full of pre-ISBN paperbacks, small-press printings, and hand-me-downs that scanner apps give up on. Photograph the cover or type a few words and Shelvanize matches the book against a hosted catalog of more than twenty million editions.

Offline first

Your collection lives on your device, and everything that touches your own books works with no signal at all. It stays yours, too. Export the whole collection to CSV or JSON at any time, free, with no account required.

Never capped

Add ten books or ten thousand. The collection is never capped, and everything you type, scan, or photograph stays readable, editable, and exportable. That holds forever, not until an upsell.

Shelves, lending, reading

Model your real cases and shelves, note which friend has your copy, and keep a light record of what you have read. A tool for your shelves, not a network. No feed, no followers, no ads.
